Glucosamine sulfate 500 mg, chondroitin sulfate 400 mg

Indications/Uses

Adjunctive therapy for OA.

Dosage/Direction for Use

Adult 1 tab tds. Mild or moderate OA 1 tab bd for 6 wk. Severe OA Initially 1 tab tds for 8-12 wk. Maintenance dose: 1 tab bd for 3-4 mth.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to glucosamine & chondroitin; allergy to shellfish.

Special Precautions

Patients under insulin therapy. Monitor blood glucose levels regularly. Severe hepatic or renal insufficiency. 1st trimester of pregnancy & lactation. Childn

Adverse Reactions

Erythema, pruritus. Rarely, drowsiness, headache, insomnia, GI disturbances.

Drug Interactions

Increased insulin resistance & affect glucose tolerance. Reduced antidiabetic agent effectiveness. Increased INR value w/ warfarin & potentiated anticoagulant effect.
